KUWAIT: Kuwait's schools have been instructed by the minister of education to avoid posing difficult exam questions in the end-of-term exams since they are likely to cause anxiety and stress to pupils, which it is feared could lead to poor pupil performance in the rest of the exams. Education minister Ahmad Al-Mulaifi revealed the ministry's new policy yesterday as he toured a primary and a secondary school in the Zahra area, meeting briefly with each school's examination committee. The end of year exams are designed with the unique abilities and differences between students in mind, the minister stressed, adding that the answers to very technical or complex exam questions should be assessed only by experts in the subjects in question or the invigilators who originally designed the questions.
