KUWAIT: Minister of Electricity and Water Salem Al-Uthayna said on Monday that recent laboratory tests prove that Kuwait's drinking water is safe and clean. "I'd like to reassure the Kuwaiti people that [Kuwait's] water is safe and free of impurities," the minister told a National Assembly (parliament) session. The lab tests - conducted by specialists at the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) -- proved that water is safe and clean, the minister said. The MoH is using the help of a World Health Organization (WHO) expert to verify its tests on the country's drinking water, the minister revealed, adding that the expert would report their findings to the ministry on July 1st. On a separate issue, meanwhile, the parliament was yesterday holding a closed session to discuss the latest grilling motion against His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah.
