CSC compels public sector bodies to employ more Kuwaitis
Kuwait :The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has introduced a number of amendments to the current employment laws in order to create public sector job opportunities for Kuwaitis. One CSC insider said that the commission's new amendments aim to increase the percentage of Kuwaitis working in the public sector to 90 percent of the total workforce, with only 10 percent of expatriate employees allowed. The ministerial council has reportedly rejected requests from some public sector bodies with separate budgets to be exempted from the new regulations, adding that all public sector bodies must comply with the rules and regulations on national labor.
