Lawmakers plan to grill premier over Internet

Kuwait: The consumer is being burdened by skyrocketing prices and poor quality of services, thanks to unlicensed companies that operate under the supervision of the Ministry of Communication, says lawyer Husain Al-Abdullah. Speaking at a seminar held at the Kuwait Lawyers Association on Sunday, Al-Abdullah explained that the licenses of local internet service providers expired more than four years ago.Al-Abdullah who has been working toward filing lawsuits against internet providers on behalf of a pressure group formed by consumers on the internet, says providers have been operating illegally, citing the latest report published by the Kuwait Audit Bureau.
