KUWAIT: The newly designated Labor Attaché from Philippines Embassy David Des Decang was introduced to the Filipino community in Kuwait on Thursday. The introductory meeting was held at the Philippines' Embassy's Consular Section, in which leaders from the community, members of the press and embassy officials were present. The new labor attaché promised to introduce tougher 'drastic measures' to help compatriots working in Kuwait as household service workers (housemaids) skilled and professional workers.Decang assumed post as labor attaché to Kuwait on June 1, after former Labor Attaché Vivo Vidal and his assistant Ofelia Castro Hudson were recalled in connection with suspected involvement in 'human trafficking' issue. Both have denied allegations pending investigation. A native of Baguio City, Decang has served as the former Filipino Labor Attaché to Saudi Arabia before assuming the post in Kuwait.
