Undersecretary quits post ahead of reshuffle

KUWAIT: A top Ministry of Interior official has reportedly chosen to tender his resignation instead of undergoing an impending reshuffle to be carried out by the prime minister. According to a news report quoting officials, Sheikh Athbi Al-Fahad Al-Sabah tendered his resignation from his post as assistant undersecretary for state security affairs, after Sheikh Ahmad Al-Hmoud Al-Sabah, the deputy prime minister and minister of interior asked him to select the senior post he wished for during the reshuffle process.Furthermore, officials who spoke on condition of anonymity as the ministry is yet to make an official announcement indicated that , Maj Gen Abdulhameed Al-Awadhi, the assistant undersecretary for Criminal Investigations Department was selected to replace the outgoing Sheikh Athbi Al-Fahad.
