Kuwait: Kuwait's Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) stressed the need for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to unite the world in tackling food security issues. Upon the ushering in of a new Director-General, during his attendance of a FAO conference yesterday, PAAAFR Director Jassem Al-Bader said that the UN organization was approaching a new threshold which called for a modern approach in order to overcome past obstacles. Newly-appointed Jose Graziano da Silva had a tough task of unifying FAO member countries, Al-Bader said. Widespread hunger and poverty are the fundamental challenge which represent the main aim of FAO member nations, he said, which call to set aside differences and work together to achieve targeted aspirations.
